The  incomparable Steve McQueen, deeply honored by his grandchildren as they become 3rd gen
to lead the family’s philanthropic support of the boys school that shaped him.

Chase and Madison McQueen will oversee support of critically-important resource for at-risk
youth which had previously been championed by McQueen’s son – the late Chad McQueen

Chino Hills, CA, April 29, 2025 – The school that helped turn the ‘King of Cool’ Steve
McQueen from –‘incorrigible’— as his parents called him — into an icon of the silver screen
remains near and dear to his family. Beginning with his son Chad, and now his grandchildren
Chase and Madison, the family have supported Boys Republic with millions in philanthropy over
the years by leading an annual “Friends of Steve McQueen Car and Motorcycle Show”. Initially
a one-day event featuring a small collection of cars, it now spans over two weekends with a new
“Chad McQueen Memorial Rally” that occurred in early April and the car show itself in June
featuring a welcome party and charity gala with more than 550 cars featured.
Through the $6 million donated to date, the McQueen family has enabled Boys Republic to
transform and continually modernize a variety of projects from gym and living unit renovations,
to building Boys Republic’s Max L. Scott Culinary Center. They also directly support students
via funding of an endowment for apprenticeships, school scholarships and pro bono admissions.

Chase and Madison have also partnered with Renaissance Licensing to attract brand partners
to launch Steve McQueen-themed products including a new line of gourmet coffee, which
donates a portion of proceeds to the Boys Republic, as well as an online store with Mason &
Sons who donate all their proceeds to the school. These partnerships extend McQueen’s
existing presence in the consumer marketplace, as his persona and likeness have long been
used by high-end brands including Tag Heuer, Persol, Barbour, and Metisse Motorcycles,
among others of which many have donated to the “Friends of Steve McQueen Car and
Motorcycle Show” throughout the years.

“Boys Republic is a true gift – one that changes many lives and not just that of our grandfather,
Steve McQueen,” said Chase McQueen. “It’s an honor to serve, together with Madison as the

liaison between our family and Boys Republic and support their work with the goal of
transforming as many young lives as possible at this truly magnificent school.”

“As we embark on a 3rd generation of McQueen family support to Boys Republic, this ongoing
partnership extends the legacy of Steve McQueen as an alumnus and forever champion to the
cause of improving the lives of the boys and girls in our care,” said Chris Burns, Ph.D.,
Executive Director at Boys Republic. “We share in the awe of all that Steve accomplished and
remain eternally grateful to Chase and Madison for carrying the family’s philanthropic
partnership forward.”

Throughout McQueen’s life, he credited the school for turning his life around and setting him up
to live as a successful adult. This impact resonated deeply in his heart and led him to support
Boys Republic with the goal of achieving similar outcomes for other troubled youth. McQueen
remained closely connected to Boys Republic throughout his life, and his legacy continues on
with his family.

About Legendary Film Star, Steve McQueen: “The King of Cool”
Steve McQueen (1930-1980), one of Hollywood’s most iconic and enduring film stars, remains a
symbol of effortless cool, rebellion, and cinematic excellence. Known for his rugged charm,
intense performances, and love of speed, McQueen captivated audiences throughout the 1960s
and 1970s with unforgettable roles in classic films such as Bullitt (1968), The Great Escape
(1963), The Thomas Crown Affair (1968), and Papillon (1973), as well as his breakout role in
The Magnificent Seven (1960). With a persona that blended grit and charm, McQueen became
the quintessential antihero, embodying independence and nonconformity both on and off
screen. McQueen had a true passion for race cars and motorcycles. He competed in national
and international events, including the British Touring Car Championship, the 12 Hours of
Sebring, and the Elsinore Grand Prix. His love of racing was captured in films like Bullitt, The
Great Escape, and Le Mans, as he often performed his own stunts.
