This show took place nearly six months ago, so I’m almost embarrassed to finally be putting up these photos now. But its such a great show, and I didn’t want to waste Kirk Gerbracht’s great photos, and this can also serve as a calendar alert for the 2016 event, which is June 12 at Lacey Park in San Marino, California. www.sanmarinomotorclassic.com
Something for absolutely everyone at this fine show. Antique and brass era cars through and including 60s and 70s American muscle and exotic.
One of the neat twists of San Marino is that there’s a show within a show there: the AACA holds its own concours within this concours so if you like “heavy classics” you’ll see plenty of them here, and some of America’s best examples at that. Yet another reason to attend!
This Mercedes-Benz roadster really appealed to me, nicely set up for vintage racing, rallyes or tours, without being hopped up or over done. Check out the matching vintage style helmet and goggles combo.
This fabulous 30s era Packard dual-cowl phaeton was another great example of a heavy AACA player.
This ’47 Caddy Fleetwood was among the most subtly elegant cars at the show, and a personal fave of mine. Check out this soothing gray/green paint scheme. Great colors for a great car.
One of my all time favorites, anywhere, anytime, is a Daytona Spyder in Giallo Fly. Sssssuper Sssssexy.
Ferrari elegance of a different stripe, this wonderful silver green 250 GT Pininfarina Cabiolet deservedly won a special trophy for most elegant post-war open car. And I agree.
A quick glance at these suicide doors, all the chrome, and the big fins out back might have you thinking Cadillac Brougham. But no stainless steel roof! So it then must be a Facel-Vega Excellence. French body over Chrysler powertrain.
What’s not to love about a Sting Ray roadster with a 427 and factory sidepipes? Nuttin – it’s fabulous.
Cool Citroen SM looked great in soft off-beige, running rare -for-this-car aluminum alloy wheels.
Cute always works at car shows, kinda like this charming Renault 4.
Or an always popular Citroen 2CV.
