This new book, out May 6, was a good fun read. I won’t spoil it for you but in so many words, the focal point is a ’57 Chevy wagon, built and bought new by owner number one, then a high- and low-light walk through the car’s life and the lives of its thirteen unique owners. There’s rust, havoc, renovation and redemption, for the car and several of its owners. A lot of deep South Americana going on here and most of the car talk is interesting and accurate; an easy and well written read. Swift is a big name, award winning writer, and his chops show well here.
