It’s only appropriate that I get off my lazy behind and post this while it’s still the holiday season, and in the same year in which this event took place, dontcha think?
Motor4Toys is a monstrous, several thousand car morning cruise in that stems from the good karma of a young guy named Dustin Troyen. Mr. Troyen is many things; a marketing guy, writer, magazine publisher, event promoter, and car guy to the core. His idea for this event is that your “cost” of car entry is at least one new unwrapped toy. That’s also the “admission fee” for spectators. Naturally this all happens in early December the goal being to share those mountains and mountains of tens of thousands of toys with less fortunate families and kids. What a smash idea, and what s smash event.
It takes place at a massive insurance company HQ parking lot in Woodland Hills, California, and draws something for everyone: exotics, classics, muscle, tuners, hot rods and rats, bikes, you name it. Plus lots of sponsors who make it happen for the good of less fortunate kids. The Toyen’s minions of elves spend the next week after show distributing all this stuff, again all volunteer.
Its a marvelous morning car walk that I don’t miss. Here’s a few of my happy snaps from this year, and you should make it a point to be there next December as well. Its a good thing for a good thing.
