Say the name Bugatti and most enthusiasts will think of the great French cars, past and present. But there’s far more to the Bugatti story. Several of patron Ettore’s family members were gifted artists, in a variety of mediums.
Oxnard, California’s Mullin Automotive Museum, itself already dedicated to the history of Art Deco, and largely French automobiles, always has wonderful Bugatti cars on display. But a new exhibit, running from now until the end of the year, highlights the artful capabilities of the Bugatti family with cars, furniture, sculpture, painting, cars of course, and other amazing works of art that you must see.
The museum floor has been temporarily stripped of non-Bugatti automobiles, and augmented by many great works of original Bugatti family art — still including of course many many great cars, plus a superb variety of original Bugatti family art. No matter, this museum is something every enthusiast, and art lover, must see.
Public hours are limited to visit the website to make sure you’re heading there on the right day at the right time. I promise you won’t regret making the trek; its one of the most artful and elegant places you’ll ever visit.
