ITS ALIVE: My new book, The Galpin Story, now in print and available for order

It’s been a 10-year project, for a variety of reasons that don’t matter at this juncture.  But it’s here and done and I’m pretty dang proud of it.  Under the catagory of “It Takes A Village” it wouldn’t have happened at all without the willingness of the Boeckmann family — most particularly current spearhead, President, and CEO (and my friend) Beau Boeckmann — who passionately pursued and mid-wifed  this project from its beginnings more than a dozen years ago now.  We had a superb writing, design, production, and marketing team that finally brought it together, and a brilliant Managing Editor named Jane McCord, who pushed it across the line from production stagnation to Checkered Flag.

Galpin is so much more than a now 80-year-old Ford dealer, today with more than a dozen automotive brands in its several locations (not to mention an onsite Starbucks and full-service restaurant) — Perennially the World #1 Ford Dealer — Galpin is such an influential force in the automotive marketplace that it can convince carmakers to do, or not to to, certain things or models.  The Galpin history is rich in cars and brands, yes, but much more beyond that.  There’s community acitivism, global philanthropy, television and movie production, custom and race cars, and the virtual invention, or at least crystallization, of the surfer van movement in the 70s.

I won’t tell you the whole story here, but you can read it all in this book.  You can order your copy direct from Galpin (see the QR ordering code on the blue post card image above and just below) and it will also be available at Autobooks-Aerobooks bookstore in Burbank, California, which ships just about anywhere.

I’ve enjoyed the ride for the last decade, and I know you’ll do the same when you read this richly illustrated story.

Thanks for listening,
